Compatible = built-in MID-certified meter, required for ERE registration with the NEa. "Check per unit" means it varies by production year or variant — check the type plate or email us.
The meter is fine, the integration isn't
amina is a Norwegian brand that has only recently arrived properly in the Netherlands, and it is one of the few manufacturers to use the Dutch ERE scheme explicitly as a selling point. That isn't misleading: the amina M has a MID-certified meter built in as standard, with no separate MID variant and no module to order alongside. If you bought an M precisely because it would let you earn ERE certificates, you made the right call on that point.
We still can't connect you today, and it's fairer to say why. ERE registration needs two things: a MID-certified meter inside the charge point, and a route by which those measurements reach us automatically and unalterably. amina has the first covered — see MID meter explained. The second is on our side, and it isn't there.
Technically that route is very much buildable: amina offers both a cloud platform with an API and OCPP, so nothing about the hardware or the manufacturer stands in the way. It is a question of build order, and amina is on the list to revisit as more owners come forward. We deliberately don't name a date, because we can't guarantee one.
The amina S is a different device
The range is small, but the gap between the two models is wide. The amina S is the compact home charger the brand made its name with: barely any depth, light enough to mount one-handed, with a tethered cable and smart-home connectivity. For a tight garage or a narrow passage it's an excellent answer — but it has no MID-certified meter, and one can't be retrofitted.
That doesn't make the S a bad charger. Nothing changes about charging; only ERE registration is out, now and later. What you can do now
If you own an amina M, the most useful thing you can do is keep your documentation. The type plate, the purchase invoice and the meter certificate are exactly the papers that matter the moment an integration exists. Beyond that, register your interest using the button on this page — you'll hear when something changes, and your registration counts towards which integration gets built next.
What you certainly don't need to do: replace your charger. The hardware isn't the problem.

Does the amina M have a MID meter?
Yes. The amina M ships with a built-in MID-certified meter as standard — no separate MID version and no add-on module required. On the most decisive requirement of the ERE scheme, the hardware qualifies.
Does the amina S qualify for ERE registration?
No. The amina S has no built-in MID-certified meter. It charges perfectly well, but without assured metering inside the charge point nothing can be registered with the NEa.
amina markets the M for the Dutch ERE scheme. Is that accurate?
On the hardware, yes: the MID meter is there. But besides a suitable meter you also need a route by which a registration provider can read your charge sessions in an assured way. We haven't built that route for amina yet.
