Tesla & ERE certificates
Got a Tesla charger? Chances are you can earn from home charging. Connect it to Revvolt and we handle the ERE registration with the NEa.

- Wall Connector 3Not compatible
Compatible = built-in MID-certified meter, required for ERE registration with the NEa.
Does a Tesla Wall Connector qualify for ERE registration?
Since September 2025 Tesla sells a Wall Connector with a MID-certified meter in the Netherlands — that version qualifies for ERE registration. All Wall Connectors sold before then (the standard third generation and older) have no MID meter and don't qualify.
The MID version looks near-identical to the standard one; the difference is the certified metering. Check your purchase invoice or the type plate, or run the charger check.
Why your Tesla app isn't enough
The Tesla app shows neatly how much you've charged, but app values are not assured metering for the NEa. Only kWh measured by a MID-certified meter inside the charge point count — which is why the standard Wall Connector is out, however complete the data in the app looks. More on this in MID meter explained.
Older Wall Connector?
Nothing changes about charging — the unit keeps working. If you want to earn from your charge sessions, replacing it with a MID-metered model is the only route. Browse the overview of qualifying chargers and use the earnings calculator to see whether that's worth it for your mileage — with a lease car or a lot of home charging it can add up to hundreds of euros a year.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Tesla Wall Connector have a MID meter?
Only the MID version of the (third-generation) Wall Connector, sold in the Netherlands since September 2025. All earlier Wall Connectors have no MID-certified meter and don't qualify for ERE registration.
I have a Wall Connector from before September 2025 — can I join?
Unfortunately not. The older Wall Connectors lack the MID-certified meter the NEa requires, and that cannot be fixed with a software update.
How do I recognise the MID version?
Tesla sells the MID variant explicitly as a separate version ('Wall Connector with MID meter'). It's on your purchase invoice and on the type plate of the unit.
Does charging at a Supercharger count too?
No. Only sessions at your own home charge point count for your EREs. Public charge points are already booked by the operator.
