Does a Wallbox charger qualify for ERE registration?

It depends heavily on the model, and for the best-selling home units the answer is no. The Pulsar Plus and the Pulsar Max have no built-in MID-certified meter. Their internal metering is fine for the app and your own insight, but it doesn't count as assured metering for ERE registration with the NEa. The same goes for the Copper SB and the business-oriented Commander 2.

The eM4 and the eM4 Twin do qualify: both have a built-in MID meter as standard. You'll find them at businesses, owners' associations and apartment blocks more often than on a driveway, but if one is yours, you can register its sessions. The Supernova in the table above also has assured metering — note, though, that it is a public DC fast charger, not a home model.

Wallbox also sells separate MID meters as accessories. However, we currently only support chargers with a built-in MID meter: that makes the link between the assured metering and the charge point conclusive — exactly what certification is about. More on that requirement in MID meter explained.

If you own a Pulsar Plus or Max, nothing changes about charging itself; only registration is out, and that can't be fixed with an update or an accessory. If you're about to replace the unit anyway, treat the MID meter as a genuine purchase criterion — the overview of chargers with a MID meter shows per brand and model what does work.

Pulsar Pro: it's in the model name

The Pulsar Pro long looked like a borderline case, but that has been cleared up: there are two versions. Only the model named Pulsar Pro MID in full has a built-in MID-certified meter and qualifies for registration. The plain Pulsar Pro does not have that meter — the same applies to it as to the Pulsar Plus and Max. That also explains the earlier confusion: the datasheet that listed a MID meter and erecentrum, which didn't list the model as certified, were each describing a different product — and both were right.

Checking is therefore simple; there's nothing to investigate on the meter itself:

• Type plate: if it says "Pulsar Pro MID", your charger qualifies.
• Purchase invoice: the full model name is also on your invoice or order confirmation.

If it just says "Pulsar Pro", without the MID suffix, registration is out. If you're unsure, run the charger check.

Connecting with your myWallbox account

A qualifying Wallbox connects through your own myWallbox account; from then on your charge sessions flow in automatically and you never submit meter readings. Wallbox does not yet offer an official connection method for services like ours, so this connection uses your login details rather than a consent screen.
