Easee & ERE certificates

Got a Easee charger? Chances are you can earn from home charging. Connect it to Revvolt and we handle the ERE registration with the NEa.

Models

Every Easee model we know of — compatible and not — so you can find your own charger with certainty.

Compatible = built-in MID-certified meter, required for ERE registration with the NEa. "Check per unit" means it varies by production year or variant — check the type plate or email us.

Does an Easee charger qualify for ERE registration?

It depends entirely on your model. The Charge Max and the Charge Pro have a built-in MID-certified kWh meter — exactly what the NEa requires — so they qualify for earning money charging at home. Every other Easee lacks that meter: the Easee Home, for years one of the most popular home chargers in the Netherlands, but also the Charge Lite, the standard Charge, the current Charge Up, the Easee One and the commercial Charge Core.

Why that meter is decisive is covered in MID meter explained — in short: without assured metering nothing can be booked, however smart your charger is. The Easee app tracks your consumption neatly, but app values don't count as assured metering.

Mind the model names: "Charge" says nothing about the meter

Easee's naming is a trap. Almost every model starts with "Charge", but that prefix tells you nothing about the metrology. Charge Max and Charge Pro: eligible. Charge Up, Charge Core and the standard Charge: not eligible. The Charge Up is the current single-phase home model you can walk into a shop and buy today — it meters for the app only and is not MID-certified. The Charge Core is the commercial variant and doesn't have the meter either.

The Easee One adds another layer of confusion: it's sold as "Easee One", while the Easee app and the API call it "Charge One". Same device, and that device has no MID meter.

So if you're buying an Easee now because you want to register EREs, look past the brand name and check the exact version. It's on the type plate and on your purchase invoice; in the Easee app you'll see the model name under your product. Not sure? Run the charger check — you'll have your answer within a minute.

Got an Easee without a MID meter?

Nothing changes about charging: the unit keeps doing what it did. Only ERE registration is out, and that cannot be fixed with a firmware update or a bolt-on accessory — MID certification lives in the hardware. If you're about to replace or expand, treat the MID meter as a purchase criterion. The overview of chargers with a MID meter shows what qualifies per brand and model, and the earnings calculator shows what registration is indicatively worth.

Connecting Easee: automatic via your Easee account

You connect a qualifying Easee once through your own Easee account; after that your charge sessions flow in automatically — no meter readings, no manual work. The step-by-step guide is in Connecting Easee. We also include sessions from earlier in the calendar year, so as little as possible is left on the table.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Easee Home have a MID meter?

No. The Easee Home has no built-in MID-certified meter and therefore doesn't qualify for ERE registration. The same applies to the Charge Lite, the standard Charge, the Charge Up, the Easee One and the Charge Core.

Which Easee models qualify for ERE registration?

Only the Easee Charge Max and the Charge Pro have a built-in MID-certified meter and qualify for ERE registration with the NEa. Every other Easee model is out.

Does the Easee Charge Up or the Easee One qualify for ERE registration?

No. The Charge Up (the current single-phase home model) and the Easee One only meter for the app and have no MID-certified meter. Despite the naming, not every 'Charge' qualifies: only the Charge Max and Charge Pro do.

How do I see which Easee model I have?

You'll find the model name in the Easee app under your product and on the type plate of the charger itself. Your purchase invoice also states the exact version.
