Does a Zaptec charger qualify for ERE registration?
Zaptec is one of the most popular charger brands in the Netherlands, and the answer differs per generation. The Go 2 — available in the Benelux since early 2025 — has a built-in MID-certified meter and qualifies for ERE registration. The first-generation Go doesn't have that meter and is out. For the Pro, it depends on the specific unit on your wall.

Zaptec Pro: which unit do you have?
The Pro comes in two flavours that look identical from the outside. The original Pro has no MID-certified meter; only the "Pro MID" version from 2024 onwards does. Annoying detail: the serial number doesn't show the difference — through the Zaptec connection both versions come out looking the same. That's why we list the Pro as check per unit and don't promise eligibility up front.
Here's how to find out what you have:
- Article number: printed on the type plate and shown on your purchase invoice, and it does identify the exact version.
- Type plate: look for a MID marking (class B).
- Installation documentation: it records the SKU that was delivered, useful if the type plate is hard to read.
If you're not sure, run the charger check with those details to hand. If your Pro turns out to be the MID version, the same rules apply as for the Go 2 and your sessions can simply be registered. If it turns out it isn't, you'll hear that from us before anything is submitted to the NEa — correcting a wrong assumption afterwards costs far more effort than checking it up front.
If you have a first-generation Go or a Pro without MID, your charger keeps working; nothing changes about charging. Only ERE registration is out: the metering isn't assured, and that can't be fixed afterwards with an update or an accessory. Connecting without sharing your password
You approve access on a consent screen hosted by Zaptec itself, logged in with your own account. Your password stays with you; we only get read access to your installation and charge history, and you can withdraw that access at any time. From then on your sessions flow in automatically and you never submit meter readings — sessions from earlier in the calendar year count retroactively too.
