Blue Current & ERE certificates

Four of the five models qualify

Blue Current is a Dutch charger brand with a clear line-up: the U:MOVE as a wall unit or pedestal, with a socket or a fixed cable and 3.7 to 22 kW, the H:Move Hidden, which is tucked almost entirely into the meter cabinet so that only a cable comes out, and the compact NanoCharge and Nano XL.

For ERE registration it all comes down to one question: is there a MID-certified meter inside the charge point itself? For the U:MOVE, the H:Move Hidden and both Nano models that answer is yes: Blue Current states in its own help centre that its chargers have a MID-certified meter. The one exception is the Home — that model has no built-in MID meter and therefore doesn't qualify for ERE registration.

What you can check yourself

Even with a brand that fits its chargers with a MID meter as standard, your own unit is what counts. Older chargers may come from a batch that predates that standard, and you can't tell from the outside.

• The MID marking: a green M with the last two digits of the certification year (M23 means certified in 2023). It's on the meter or on the type plate.
• The serial number and type designation on the type plate, usually on the underside of the housing.
• Your purchase or installation paperwork, which states the version you were supplied.

For the H:Move Hidden, Blue Current's statement applies just the same: even with the built-in design, the MID meter is part of the charge point itself, not a separate kWh meter hanging next to it. Why that distinction matters is covered in MID meter explained.

Connecting with an API token from your own account

The connection works with an API token you create yourself in your account on my.bluecurrent.nl — your password stays with Blue Current and we never need it. Creating the token takes a few minutes and only works on a computer; the exact steps are in Connect your Blue Current. After connecting we automatically detect which model you have and import your charging history for this calendar year, so sessions from before you connected count too.

Good to know: Blue Current also offers its own ERE registration service to its customers.
