The BlueBuilt WLAC1 is Coolblue's own-brand charger, and it isn't an in-house design: it's a Peblar Business sold under the BlueBuilt name. That's good news for the question this page is about, because that Peblar ships with a MID-certified kWh meter built in. So the hardware meets the core requirement for ERE registration: assured metering inside the charge point itself, not somewhere in the meter cabinet.

Coolblue delivers and installs the unit with its own engineers, including load balancing and a fixed cable. That makes it one of the more easily obtainable MID chargers in the Netherlands — you buy it as a complete package rather than as a loose device.

Why "Peblar works" doesn't mean "BlueBuilt works"

This is the detail that justifies the page. If you see Peblar listed as a brand whose sessions we can collect, the logical conclusion is that your BlueBuilt is covered too. That conclusion is wrong, and the difference isn't the meter — it's the route your data takes.

A charger meters its own sessions, but it forwards them to a management platform. For a Peblar-branded unit that's the route we know. For a BlueBuilt, those same sessions go to the cloud Coolblue runs with its charging partner: a different platform, with its own login, its own app and its own way of exposing data. We only work with charging data we can retrieve directly and traceably at the source, and for that platform we don't have the route yet.

So it isn't a case of "near enough identical, it'll work". It's a separate integration that has to be built separately.

There's a further wrinkle: brand partners decide which software features are enabled on their version. Peblar hardware sold under other brand names is known to differ from the original in firmware and available features. That's exactly why we don't lump a BlueBuilt in with a Peblar sight unseen — we want to have established on real units what does and doesn't come out before we promise anything about it.

What you can do now

Practically speaking there's little to verify, and that's the upside of this model: Coolblue sells one home charger under the BlueBuilt name, and it has the MID meter. If you'd like to see it for yourself, look on the type plate for the MID marking — a green M with the last two digits of the certification year — or for the WLAC1 type designation on your installation paperwork. Beyond that there's honestly nothing to do but register for a heads-up. Your charger carries on doing what it does in the meantime, and nothing changes about the meter: it stays valid even if the integration only arrives later.
