Webasto (Ampure) & ERE certificates
Some Webasto (Ampure) models do have a built-in MID meter, so the hardware qualifies. We just can't read Webasto (Ampure) charging data yet, so connecting isn't possible for now.

We only work with charging data we can retrieve directly and verifiably — from the charger itself or from the manufacturer — and neither route is open for Webasto (Ampure) yet. Compatible = built-in MID-certified meter, required for ERE registration with the NEa. "Check per unit" means it varies by production year or variant — check the type plate or email us.
Two brand names, the same chargers
First, something that saves confusion when you search: the charging arm of German manufacturer Webasto now trades as Ampure. Same models, same hardware, two names — you'll meet both in manuals, webshops and search results. Looking something up about your charger? Try both.
For ERE registration the rename makes no difference. What counts is whether there's a MID-certified meter inside the charge point, and on that the range varies considerably. The Pure II (the entry model) and the Next (the smart home model) don't have one. On the Live, the commercial lease and fleet model, it's standard. And then there's the Unite, where it differs from unit to unit.
The Unite: something you have to check yourself
The Unite is the model most Dutch owners end up with, and it's exactly where the answer isn't clear-cut. Unite versions exist with a MID-certified meter and versions without — it comes down to which SKU was purchased at the time. From the outside they look near enough identical, so the model name alone tells you nothing. That's why we list the Unite as check per unit and promise nothing in advance.
Here's how to find out what you have:
- Type plate. Look at the full type designation and article number, not the model name. In the MID version, "MID" appears literally in the type designation.
- Meter window. MID versions have a display window showing the reading of the assured meter. If you can't find a meter reading anywhere, that's a strong sign you have a version without MID.
- Purchase and installation paperwork. It states the SKU delivered, and a MID version comes with a meter certificate. Hold on to it.

Even with the right meter, we can't connect you yet
If your Unite turns out to be a MID version, or if you have a Live, the hardware is in order — and we still can't connect you today. A connection would run over OCPP, but we haven't built that for Webasto and Ampure. As long as we can't collect charge sessions directly from the charge point, unalterably, we can't account for anything to the NEa. Manually submitted kWh figures are no substitute.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Webasto Unite have a MID meter?
It varies per unit. Unite versions exist both with and without a MID-certified meter, and the housing is near enough identical. The article number and type designation on the type plate settle it — the MID version has 'MID' in the type designation.
Does the Webasto Next or Pure II qualify for ERE registration?
No. Neither the Pure II nor the Next has a built-in MID-certified meter, and one cannot be retrofitted. Both keep charging as normal, but they can't be used to register with the NEa.
Is Webasto the same as Ampure?
Yes. Webasto's charging business now trades as Ampure. It's the same hardware; you'll come across both names in search results, manuals and product pages.
I have a Unite with a MID meter — can I take part?
The meter isn't what blocks you, but connecting still isn't possible: we can't read charging data from Webasto or Ampure chargers at the moment. You can leave your details for when that changes.
