Connect your Alfen charger to Revvolt via OCPP

Connect your Alfen Eve Single to Revvolt via OCPP and earn automatically from the kWh you charge at home. What you need, your installer's role, and how the connection works step by step.

The Alfen Eve is the most popular charging station in the Netherlands — and thanks to OCPP you'll soon be able to connect it directly to Revvolt, even though Alfen offers no public cloud API. Here's what you need and how the connection works. New to OCPP? Read what OCPP is first.

Coming soon — Revvolt's OCPP connection is under construction. Put your Alfen on the waitlist via the charger check; we'll let you know the moment you can connect.

What do you need?

  • A compatible Alfen with built-in MID meter (see the model table below)
  • A charger that is online (wired internet or Wi-Fi; the MyEve app helps bring ~2023+ models online)
  • Your installer (or any installer with an Alfen ACE account) for the backoffice setting
  • Is your Alfen already on another backoffice? Then also the charger password from your current provider

How the connection works

  1. Start the connection in the Revvolt portal. Choose Connect charging station → Alfen. You'll see a unique server address, an identity for your charger and a secret key — shown once.
  2. Hand the details to your installer. Configuration happens in Alfen's ACE Service Installer: under Connectivity the installer enters the server address (URL and path are two fields), protocol OCPP 1.6, plus the identity and key.
  3. Restart the charging station. After saving all settings the installer restarts the charger — it then announces itself to Revvolt automatically.
  4. We recognise your charger. The Alfen reports its brand, model and serial number; we check MID eligibility and your charge sessions start flowing.

Which Alfen models are eligible?

Alfen Eve Double PlusEligible
Alfen Eve Double Pro-lineEligible
Alfen Eve Single PlusEligible

Only models with a built-in MID meter qualify for EREs. Not sure about your model? Do the charger check.

Good to know

  • Alfen firmware updates go one major version at a time; an outdated charger may need an intermediate step. Your installer sees this in the ACE Service Installer.
  • An Alfen connects to one backoffice at a time. If it was on a charge-card provider, their services end once Revvolt is configured.

Then: what happens automatically?

Every charging session reaches us straight from the meter in your charger — start and end readings, start and end time. Continue with registering your location to qualify for payouts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect my Alfen myself, without an installer?

Usually not. An Alfen's backoffice setting is configured with the ACE Service Installer (a Windows program requiring an installer account). The MyEve app cannot do this. Count on a short visit or remote session from your installer — it's a few minutes of configuration.

My Alfen is already connected to a charge-card provider or backoffice. Can I switch?

An Alfen connects to one backoffice at a time, and the charger's password is often held by that provider. Request the password (or the switch) from your current provider — after that your installer can configure Revvolt. Note: your current provider's services (like charge-card billing) stop at that point.

Do I lose an app when connecting my Alfen to Revvolt?

No. Most Alfen home chargers have no consumer app for charging sessions; the MyEve app only helps bring the charger online. Your charging insights move to the Revvolt portal.

Is the connection secure?

Yes. The charger connects over an encrypted channel with a unique address and a secret key that only you (or your installer) enter. Only your charger can link data to your account.
