Verifying your charger's MID meter

EREs may only be registered for charging stations with a built-in MID-certified meter. The MID marking usually sits on the meter module inside the housing — please don't open your charger yourself. That's why we ask for one piece of evidence per charging station tying your unit to the right model.

Which evidence?

Either of these two is enough:

1. A photo of the type plate — the label on the housing showing the model, article and serial number. It's often on the side or bottom of the charger.
2. The purchase or installation invoice naming the exact model or article number.

When in doubt, the invoice is the strongest evidence: some models exist in versions with and without a MID meter, and then only the exact article number makes the difference — not the model name.

How do we check?

Your evidence is read automatically right after uploading. We compare the brand, model and article number against our charger register — and for chargers connected via OCPP also against what your charger reported about itself when it connected. If everything matches on a model that has a MID meter as standard, verification completes immediately.

Does your model exist in multiple versions, or can't we establish everything automatically? Then our team reviews your evidence personally. That usually takes a few business days; no further action needed.

Useful pointers per situation

• Not sure whether your model has a MID meter? A visible kWh display is often the external tell: MID versions show the meter reading, versions without a meter usually don't.
• Type plate unreadable or unreachable? Use the invoice, or ask your installer for written confirmation of the installed article number.
• Every check is recorded in your file — this is exactly the evidence the NEa and the independent verifier can request later.
