Connect your Smappee charger to Revvolt

Connect your Smappee EV Wall, EV One or EV Base to Revvolt with your personal Smappee API keys. Here's how to request the free keys and connect, step by step.

Do you have a Smappee charger? Connecting to Revvolt works with personal API keys you request from Smappee free of charge. That's one extra step (and a short wait for Smappee), but you only do it once — and the portal saves your progress, so you can always come back later. Here's exactly what to do.

Beta — this connection is new. We manually review your model and your first charge sessions before they count towards your EREs. No action needed on your side.

What do you need?

  • A compatible Smappee with built-in MID meter (see the model table below)
  • Your Smappee account (username + password, for one-time sign-in only)
  • Your personal Smappee API keys (client_id and client_secret) — free to request, see step 1

How to connect your Smappee

  1. Request your free API keys from Smappee. Start the connection in the Revvolt portal (Connect charging station → Smappee): a ready-made email to support@smappee.com is waiting there. Send it and click "I've sent the request" — your progress is saved.
  2. Wait for Smappee's reply. This is free, but handled manually at Smappee — expect a few business days. You can simply close the portal.
  3. Come back and paste your keys. Open the Smappee connection again — you continue automatically at step 2. Paste the client_id and client_secret from Smappee's email and sign in once with your Smappee account.
  4. We detect your charger and import your history. We read the model and serial number (energy monitors are skipped) and retrieve your charging history for this calendar year.

Which Smappee models are eligible?

Smappee EV WallBeing verified
Smappee EV OneBeing verified
Smappee EV BaseBeing verified

For the EV Wall the MID meter depends on the hardware generation — we verify this per unit while connecting. Not sure about your model? Do the charger check — you'll have an answer within a minute.

Then: what happens automatically?

We retrieve new charge sessions daily — nothing more to do. Continue with registering your location to qualify for payouts.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I have to request API keys from Smappee?

Smappee grants access to charging data via personal API keys (a client_id and client_secret) that every user requests free of charge from Smappee support. That's Smappee's choice — we make the rest of the connection as easy as possible and save your progress while you wait.

How long does it take for Smappee to send my keys?

Requesting is free, but handled manually at Smappee — expect a few business days. Your progress in the portal is saved: once you have the keys, you continue right where you left off.

Does Revvolt store my Smappee password?

No. Your password is used once to set up the connection and is never stored. We do keep your API keys — they're needed to keep the connection alive — encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with the key kept strictly separate from the database.

Can Revvolt also see my home energy use (Genius/Infinity monitor)?

We only retrieve your charger and charge-session data. If you also have a Smappee energy monitor, we recognise and skip it — we don't import your household consumption.

Can I disconnect later?

Yes. You can disconnect in the portal at any time; we then also delete your stored API keys.
