Managing and verifying locations

Under Locations you manage the addresses where your chargers are installed. For each address we need to prove that the grid connection is in your name and which EAN code belongs to it — only then may we register EREs.

The overview

Each location is a card showing the address, the EAN code (if known) and a status label:

• Not verified — nothing proven yet.
• Verification in progress — we're checking your details or waiting on a manual review.
• Verified — address, EAN and ownership confirmed. This address is ready for the mandate.

Adding a location

Click Add location and fill in:

1. Address — street, house number, postal code and city.
2. Owner of the grid connection — first and last name, and optionally date of birth and phone number. Note: these are the details of the person the connection is registered to, which may differ from the account holder.
3. EAN code — the 18-digit number of your connection. As soon as your address is complete we look up the EAN automatically in the EAN register. Confirm it, or enter it yourself from your energy bill.

Verifying with your energy bill

The clinching piece of evidence is your energy bill. Upload a recent bill (at most 12 months old) that clearly shows your name, address and EAN code. We check it automatically; if that doesn't fully succeed, a team member reviews it and you'll hear from us soon.

Every check is recorded in the location's verification history, so everything is auditable later.

Linking chargers to a location

A charger belongs to an address. If you have just one charger and one location, we link them automatically. With several, you can assign or unassign a charger on the location page.

The mandate

Once a location is verified and the EAN is known, the step to sign the mandate appears. This authorizes us to register your EREs with the NEa and sell them on your behalf. Without a mandate no payout is possible. More on this in The mandate — what exactly are you signing?.
